TRENTON – Gov. Chris Christie spoke with President Barack Obama in Washington Thursday, but details of their conversation will be left between the two men, he said.

The governor told reporters Friday he would not divulge details of his conversation with the commander in chief, saying it would be inappropriate for him to discuss such information.

“Obviously we talked about hurricane relief,” said Christie, adding, “but [I] won’t talk about the specifics.”

When pressed to divulge the tenure of their discussions, Christie again declined. The governor argued it would counterproductive for future conversations to disclose details of private talks.

“I think it’d be wrong for me to give any insight into that,” Christie said. “The president and I have spoken to each other candidly and honestly.”
