The FBI raided Union City City Hall this morning.
“The city is fully cooperating with authorities,” said Mark Albiez, spokesman for Mayor Brian P. Stack. “We can’t comment on a pending investigation.”
The fourth floor is on lockdown, a source told PolitickerNJ.com, as authorities examine the Community Development Block Grant office and the Office of Treasurer/Comptroller.
The source said the investigation involves the alleged misappropriation of Community Development Block Grant dollars.
The raid occurred against the backdrop of an intensified political war in Hudson County heading into next year's legislative elections between the Hudson County Democratic Organization (HCDO) and renegade Stack.
