BELEVILLE - Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean (R-21) of Westfield said even if the race has been called in Democrat Bob Menendez's favor for the U.S. Senate seat, he said all the votes must be counted.
"I think it's important every vote be counted," he said. He pointed out that results have yet to come in from Bergen County, and more important Ocean and Monmouth counties, which Kyrillos represents as state senator.
"That is what we need to focus on," he said.
If Kyrillos wins, he would be the first Republican in New Jersey elected to the U.S. Senate since 1972.
Former Congressman Andy Maguire has filed paperwork to run in the 5th Congressional District.
