The Huffington Post has an interesting story on election night exit polling and how the Associated Press and others will deal with a squeaker.

For the first time, the AP will be tweeting its election night calls at the same time they are punched across the wire.  But according to the post, the news agency that has been covering presidential elections since 1848 has warned staffers about retweeting calls from other outlets and the dangers of incorrent or premature election calls . Executives from the AP and several networks will be "quarantined" beginning at 11 a.m. in an attempt to keep any exit polling data from leaking prior to all polls closing.
