Shelley Adler Building Momentum: The Cook Political Report Shifts Race to Competitive Status

(MOORESTOWN) – Shelley Adler, the wife of the late Congressman John Adler, has had an impressive first week on the campaign trail securing the support of the Burlington County Democratic Committee and now, having a national spotlight placed on the campaign this week with The Cook Political Report shifting the race to a competitive category as “Leaning Republican.” The national attention spotlighting New Jersey’s Third Congressional District sends a clear signal that Democrats have a real opportunity to win back the seat with Shelley Adler this November.

Michael Muller, strategic advisor to Shelley Adler commented on the importance of The Cook Political Report shifting the status of the race into a competitive category. “Shelley Adler is a tremendous candidate and national experts have noticed that her race is one to watch. The move from ‘Likely Republican’ to ‘Lean Republican’ is significant since it underscores that this is a competitive contest,” stated Muller.

“With early momentum on her side, Shelley Adler is one of only ten contests in the northeast to reach a competitive status and the only one in New Jersey according to The Cook Political Report. This attention has really bolstered Shelley Adler’s campaign as she crisscrosses the district making the case for an issue-based campaign to discuss the challenges facing our country,” concluded Muller.

Shelley Adler, a Harvard Law School graduate, formerly served as a Cherry Hill councilwoman and PTA president. As an attorney, she has represented individuals and businesses in corporate transactions and litigation. Shelley Adler is admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania and practiced in a major Philadelphia firm for over 10 years. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Barrington D. Parker, a federal district judge in the District of Columbia.
