Christie doubles down on his ten percent income tax cut pitch

DENVILLE - Gov. Chris Christie stomped on Democrats in front of a gratified crowd here at a technical school in his home county at his 63rd town hall meeting.

"They can't stand the fact that a conservative Republican governor is leading the state back to posterity," the governor said of the majority party in Trenton.

The governor called the Democrats' efforts a comedy show, and laughed at the notion that he could be lectured by the people "who dug this hole and dumped us in it."

He used the platofrom of the town hall to pitch his ten percent income tax cut and contrast it with Democrats' proposals.

"You deserve to get some relief," the governor said to applause in a gym packed with 400 plus people.

"They say 'i'm cutting the wrong tax.' But I'll guarantee you this: the property tax program they're proposing, we can take that money back from you."

Christie's income tax cut proposal?

"If we never get it from you, we can never spend it," said Christie to claps. "Take my advice from a friend, don't give it to us in the first place. What a refreshing moment in the history of the state, that the Legislature is arguing with me over which tax to cut."
