
Senate President Steve Sweeney's (D-3), West Deptford, home county party organization raised the most money last year, leading all other county organizations in both parties.
Gloucester Democrats raised $716,548, followed by Middlesex County Democrats, who raised $696,128.
A big dollar bulk of Gloucester money came from a leaders fund belonging to former Speaker Joe Roberts ($37,000), the campaign of Sweeney, Burzichelli and Riley ($111,000) and the campaign of Madden, Moriarty, and Mosquera ($75,000) - a total of $223,000.
The Burlington County GOP came in third overall and first among GOP county organizations. The organization raised $661,785 in 2011.

Passaic Democrats - $641,973
Camden Democrats - $496,647
Bergen Democrats - $490,967
Somerset GOP - $382,241
Bergen GOP - $368,093
Union Democrats - $347,856
Hudson Democrats - $339,318
Among county party committees last year, the Passaic County Democratic Committee spent the most of any committee - $732,453, according to ELEC. That organization also ended up with the most cash-on-hand - $248,548. Among Republican committees, the Burlington County Republican Committee spent the most - $663,208.
Four Democratic committees - Bergen, Essex, Middlesex and Passaic - reported a net worth of more than $100,000. Four Democratic counties - Burlington, Gloucester, Hudson and Monmouth - reported being in the red based on their net worth, ELEC said.
