The SEIU New Jersey State Council today announced its endorsements for Senate and Assembly seats in the upcoming November elections.

Rahaman Muhammad, president of the SEIU New Jersey State Council and head of Newark-based SEIU Local 617, issued this statement:

“Today we announce our endorsements for those legislators who wholeheartedly supported New Jersey union workers and families in 2011.  We stand with our coalition partners in making these selections.  While we do regret that this list doesn't include legislators that we have previously backed, we remain hopeful that we will once again come together and work on behalf of our workers and their families.”

The SEIU represents 40,000 service workers in the private and public sectors around the state.
