Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean issued the following statement today after it was announced by Governor Christie that Anne Patterson will be nominated to replace Supreme Court Justice Roberto Rivera-Soto when his term expires in September. Last year, Governor Christie used his constitutional authority to nominate Ann Patterson to replace Justice John Wallace but the Democrat majority refused to hold a hearing.
“I said last year, when Governor Christie first nominated Anne Patterson to the Supreme Court to replace Justice John Wallace, that she was an extraordinary person who is eminently qualified to serve on our state’s highest court and I still hold that feeling today.
